Ground Combat
combat / FPS
On-foot combat loop for bunker contracts, mercenary area-clear missions, and Pyro's contested zones — pick a loadout, engage, and extract, plus where to buy weapons and armor.
Best for
- FPS-focused players
- org ground-combat squads
- mercenary career path
- contested-zone loot runs in Pyro
Minimum equipment
- Armor set (helmet, torso, arms, legs, undersuit, backpack) matched to the objective
- Primary weapon (rifle or SMG) plus sidearm
- Med pens
- Grenades or utility tools as needed
- A ship or vehicle to reach the site and extract
Steps
- Pick an armor class — light for mobility, medium for balance, heavy for maximum protection — matched to the objective's expected resistance.
- Equip a primary weapon (rifle or SMG), a sidearm, and consumables; carry med pens for self- and squad-aid on longer objectives.
- Buy or restock weapons and armor at a retail chain like CenterMass or an independent shop such as Cubby Blast before departing.
- Accept a ground-combat contract via the Contract Manager in mobiGlas — a bunker defend/retake contract, a mercenary area-clear mission, or a Pyro Contested Zone push.
- Travel to the marked Area of Operations; bunkers have outdoor AI turrets that fire on ships but generally hold fire on players using cover.
- On a defend/clear bunker, mop up hostiles already inside; on a retake bunker, fight through pirate-held rooms including their captured turrets.
- On a mercenary contract, clear or defend the entire assigned area of AI combatants rather than hunting a single marked target.
- On a Contested Zone push, fight for Compboards and any keycards needed to bypass locked doors, and expect PvP as well as AI resistance.
- Use hard cover consistently — turret and AI accuracy against exposed players is high.
- Administer med pens as needed to manage injury symptoms in the field, then extract to your ship once the objective, or your ammo and health, runs out.
- Let the Contract Manager auto-complete a bunker or mercenary contract for payout and reputation, or turn in Compboards at the Executive Hangars for a Contested Zone.
Armor classes
- Class: LightNotes: Best mobility, least protection.
- Class: MediumNotes: Balance of protection and mobility; recommended default for FPS boarding actions.
- Class: HeavyNotes: Maximum protection, reduced mobility; some sets also affect piloting G-force resistance.
Avoid
- Do not cross open ground near an active turret without using cover.
- Do not treat a mercenary contract's legality as fixed — check whether the mission-giver makes it a legal or illegal job before accepting.
- Do not expect Distribution Centers as a current ground-combat site type — that wiki content is flagged stale.
Gear shops
- CenterMassNotes: Human weapons and armor retail chain with franchise stores across the UEE; also repairs purchased gear.
- Cubby BlastNotes: Independent weapons and armor retailer in Area18, ArcCorp; wide personal-weapon and armor selection.
Site types
- Notes: Security still nominally holds the bunker; help clear remaining hostiles before pirates take it.Type: Bunker (defend/clear)
- Notes: Pirates already control the facility, including its outdoor turrets; fight through to retake it.Type: Bunker (retake)
- Notes: Defend or clear an entire area of AI combatants rather than a single marked target; can be legal or illegal depending on the mission-giver.Type: Mercenary contract
- Notes: Free-fire PvPvE areas at Checkmate, Orbituary, and Ruin Station; fight for Compboards 1-7 (and keycards at two further zones) to turn in for ships, FPS weapons, and Grade-A components at the Executive Hangars.Type: Contested Zone (Pyro)
