Steps
- Rent or buy a ROC.
- Spawn a ship that can physically fit the ROC.
- Load the ROC into the ship slowly and park it straight.
- Fly to a moon or planetary surface with ground mineables.
- Scan from the ship for small surface mineable clusters.
- Land on flat terrain close to the cluster.
- Drive ROC to deposit.
- Fracture deposit with ROC mining arm.
- Extract gems into ROC storage.
- Return ROC to ship.
- Sell contents at a compatible mining/trade terminal.
Good practice
- Avoid steep slopes.
- Do not leave the ship floating with engines doing weird physics goblin things.
- Park ramp downhill or level where possible.
- Use CStone/UEX/SC Trade Tools to confirm current gem demand.
Scope notes
- Alpha 4.9's ship mining laser power buff and new long-range scanning workflow apply to ship-mounted lasers (Prospector/MOLE/Golem), not the ROC's own integrated mining arm — don't expect either to show up here.
